How to prepare Amazon main images that pass review
Amazon rejects listing images for two reasons more than any other: wrong background and too-small resolution. Here is exactly what the main image must be.
1. Amazon image requirements (main image)
- White background: pure white (RGB 255,255,255), product fills 85% of the frame
- Minimum 1000×1000 px for zoom; 2400×2400 px recommended
- JPG, PNG, TIFF, or GIF — JPG or PNG are recommended
- No text, logos, watermarks, or borders in the main image
- Product must be fully in frame, no props on the main image
- File size smaller than 10 MB
Step 1 — Use a real white background
Never submit a grey or beige studio background. If your product is already photographed, use the White background or AI background removal tool at Whitebox — background removal handles edges automatically, then we fill with pure white.
Step 2 — Resize to 2400×2400
Open the Whitebox tool, set the max size to 2400 px, and process your folders. High resolution unlocks the zoom feature, which increases conversion.
Step 3 — Batch your whole catalog
Upload a folder. Whitebox processes every image at once, names files with your SKU prefix, and delivers a ZIP. Export up to 3 images free; upgrade to PRO for unlimited.
Why use a focused workflow?
General photo editors make you repeat the same steps for every SKU. Whitebox combines white background, square resize, SKU prefixing and ZIP export in one browser workflow. It is designed for small catalogs that need consistent, upload-ready files without handing product images to a server.
